Ear Wax Removal

Using specialised equipment and a camera that looks within the ear, our practitioners are trained and certified in the techniques of microsuction, which are used to clean the ears.
Earwax, which is naturally formed in the ear canal, lubricates and shields the ears from dust, bacteria, discomfort, and even insects. Due to the fact that earwax naturally travels from halfway down the canal to the outside of the ear, most people do not need to remove it.
Some people may experience issues with too much earwax or it may become lodged in their ears. People may have discomfort or diminished hearing in these situations, and getting the earwax cleaned may help.

What is Microsuction
Microsuction involves using a small, gentle suction device to remove wax while the practitioner views the ear canal through a special magnification loupes. This allows for precise control and visibility.
How it works?
Inspection: The clinician examines your ear using a microscope.
No liquids: Unlike traditional syringing (which uses water), microsuction is dry, reducing the risk of infection or damage.
Suction: A tiny vacuum-like device is inserted to gently suck out the wax.
Real-time visualisation: The whole process is done under magnification so the practitioner can clearly see what they're doing.
Benefits:
-
Safe and gentler than ear syringing or irrigation
-
Quick procedure (often under 30 minutes)
-
Less risk of infection, especially for people with ear issues like perforated eardrums
-
Minimal discomfort, and many people find it painless
Who Might Need It?
-
People with blocked ears, hearing loss, or a "full" feeling in the ears
-
Those who wear hearing aids (more prone to wax build-up)
-
Individuals with a narrow or curved ear canal where wax doesn't clear naturally
